Blair
Lazar started out on the road to hot sauce manufacture whilst
working as a bartender on the Jersey Shore in 1989. In a story
not dissimilar to Dave Hirschkop's he created a fearsomely
hot sauce to get rid of late nite drunks who'd simply refuse
to quit at closing time. Blair's bet was that anyone who could
eat four of his special wings could stay after the 2 a.m.
closing time - nobody ever did.
Despite their fearsome heat Blair's wings and the sauces
he was making to prepare them turned out to be popular and
so in 1989, with $550 of bar tips that he'd saved, Blair’s
Sauces & Snacks was born. Blair's passion was, and still is
to this day, to produce extreme foods with great karma that
will make you "feel alive"...
The Death Sauce range remains Blair's most famous, the name
was a piece of marketing genius. Today there are many more
products in the Blair's line up, most specifically the A.M.
range of additives which stretch's right up to the full 16
million Scoville Unit limit (Pure Capsicum) and the new Q
Heat range of gourmet sauces.
Blair's Original Death Sauce
is still one of the best tasting sauces around but for those
who don't think it's quite hot enough Blair created his After
Death Sauce. Great sauces that have stood the test of
time and are still popular despite having been superseded
on the heat scale by more recent creations, Beyond
Death Sauce, Mega Death Sauce
and recently Ultra Death Sauce.
All Blair's Death Range of sauces carry the skull keychain
- as a warning to those who dare to venture within!
The success has bought Blair an international company producing
a huge range of sauces but he's not forgotten his roots, Blair's
Jersey Death Sauce uses local
Jersey tomato puree to bring the taste of the Garden State
to the rest of the world.
